So is your idea of holiday fun…
Pranking your unsuspecting friends by walking around with mistletoe?
Or wrapping your coworkers cubicles in gift wrap?
Now that the holiday season is upon us, it’s time to relax and have some fun!
The following tips will be your insurance against dry, dull skin as a result of too much holiday party fun!
Hydration – In the wintertime, your skin can dehydrated due to long hours in heated rooms. It is possible to lose as much fluid as you would in a hot summer.
Make sure you drink water along with your soda, coffee, or tea (these are diuretics and cause you to lose moisture).
If your skin feels dry, switch your moisturizer to a richer one. Herbe Sois Calming Moisturizer helps reduce redness and moisturize deeply. Organic essential oils and peptides help draw moisture into the skin and keep it there.
Alcohol – If you drink alcohol at holiday parties, a good trick is to have a glass of water alongside your alcohol.
Alcohol stimulates your kidneys, making you want to use the restroom more often, so you can easily get dehydrated. Dehydration means dry skin. Prolonged dry skin means early wrinkles… and that’s no bueno!
Drinking water alongside your alcohol helps dilute the alcohol in your body (helping you pace yourself!) and this helps maintain the moisture in your skin.
Sleep – Make sure you get enough quality sleep the night before your holiday party. Your skin and eyes will look fresher.
To increase the quality of your sleep, make sure your sleep environment is completely dark or use an eye mask. If your sleep space isn’t quiet, pop in some ear plugs. These tips help give your nervous system a break and help give you a really restful sleep!
If you didn’t get 7-8 hours of sleep the night before, take a 30 minute nap before getting ready for the party.
Make-Up -For the ladies, promise yourself that you’ll remove your makeup and wash your face when you get home from the party.
Returning home at 5am is no excuse to not remove your makeup! If you don’t cleanse your skin before you sleep, your pores will clog overnight with dirt and make-up.
You don’t want pimples and enlarged pores to develop in the next couple of days – you’ve worked so hard to clear these!
Use a makeup remover cloth to remove makeup and quickly wash with Purifying Black Facewash. Activated charcoal and fruit extracts will help remove environmental toxins and any remaining makeup so that your skin can renew itself during sleep.
Lip care -During the winter, your lips are especially vulnerable to drying up and flaking. This does not mix well with lipstick.
Include your lips when you exfoliate your face, and use Herbe Sois Calming Moisturizer under your lip balm. This will help keep your lips supple for when you put on lipstick. Top it off with a plumping lip gloss, and you’re good to go!
